Poetry: A poem for Women as a Woman

                                                 You're Every Woman

Am I ever enough,
To be strong, wise and tough,
For the man and children a family consists of,
Sometimes all I need is just some good laugh,
Surrounded by people whom I trust and love,
When times are hard and rough,
I rely on nothing but the One from above

At the age of 25,
There's a lot more to experience in life,
More than cooking, cleaning or being a wife,
Or working a job from eight to five,
For knowledge and discovery are sharper than knife,
Than working on houses, cars and materials to arrive,
As reading, writing and learning to drive,
Are needs not wants for women to strive,
In a world run by men busy building a hive,
It's time for us women to take the baton and dive,
And make compassion, love and faith revive

I cry sometimes,
When I fall hard or when it's an arduous climb,
It's not wrong neither is it a crime,
Though society has the 'ideal woman' paradigm,
Weakness teaches strength, persistence, to be more than fine,
So does barriers, walls and lines,
To see failures and learn to recognize,
That's it all important to fall then rise

She's the most powerful woman I'd ever saw,
Encompassing the rules, regulations and the law,
Works, cooks, cleans for her family of four,
Her battle scars oh so sore and raw,
I knew I could never ask for more,
For she was the family's, society's and the people's core,
Who fought, persisted, suffered and bore,
A mother everyone looks up to and adore,

She's the only one I've got,
When in doubt or fear, the one I sought,
Though I've made her cry a lot,
I was always in her thoughts,
Cheers, supports and consistently applauds,
In all the wars that I've fought,
Words that whispers 'fear not'
Rain or shine, cold or hot,
She's a woman that can never be bought,

So put on that lipstick with your high heels on,
For a new day has born,
Where women are never broken nor torn,
Praise the fallen no more we shall mourn,
Its time for us to stand united and strong,
To do what's right and correct the wrong,
Traditions and believes has blinded us far too long,
Its now or never let's put it into our fight song

So walk tall,
And make the call,
For you're not anyone's nor a doll,
Why cry, beg or crawl ,
You're a woman who can go through it all!
