Mine, Yours, Ours
I saw him for the first time,
we chatted over vodka and lime,
Talking about sweet memories and sneaky crimes,
For hours and hours, oh it was sublime,
Usual conversations with men has always been like mime,
with empty words and minds like disgusting chyme,
But he was different, bold and beautiful as rhyme,
The times we spent were divine,
they cling to my heart like sticky slime,
We created memories thick like brine,
At that moment it struck me, he's a dime
Hey you, is it love or plain affection,
As all I feel is a deep connection,
Like I've know you before thousand dimensions,
Your every word and every move are reflections,
Of my idea as a woman, of a man's perfection,
What I want and what I think I need in this world of deception,
Is you, not your rejection
Time heals, but regrets stay as regrets,
Thinking about what could have been instead,
If I had stayed, and not move too ahead,
You could have been my romeo and I your Juliet,
Creating Hello's and not breaking a sweat,
Like a lighter and a cigarette or the couples in a duet,
More than friends and sweeter than the sunset,
A little something that we would've never forget
Hey you, hope you notice,
how I'm caught in your deep hypnosis,
Hoping you would respond my love as easy as osmosis,
But I know, sometimes my tries feel hopeless as it is,
Disregarding reality that's too ferocious,
As life isn't indeed a bed of roses,
but for our own to find out the meaning it composes
I guess it's just a little too late,
For me to take the place as your one and only soulmate,
Walking with you through life's maze and every date,
As she has found the key to your hearts' gate,
Filling you with more love than hate,
So I guess this leaves me to say it's all the fault of fate,
For I've reeled in the rod and long await,
for the fish to bite the bait,
Only to return home with nothing to take,
To love, to hold and to live oh for God's sake,
Make these tears stop from forming a lake,
As I'm confused on what's real and what's fake,
My heart breaks and my hands they shake,
With no reason to sleep but to stay awake,
For life's meaningless now with this deep ache,
Seeing you drifting away with no future of mine to make
And if there's another chance, another life,
I would be your pillar, your strength, your loving wife,
We'll build our little hive,
With mango trees, pines and chives,
Also a place for the children to dive,
Teach them to grow, to learn and to strive,
For love as wide as the ocean and wisdom sharp as a knife,
For you are mine and I am yours and they are ours.
