Poetry: River of Thorns

                                                                River of Thorns

"Hurry up, hand me the gauze" ,
Said the senior staff Nurse, the lady boss,
Dumbfounded amidst the blood loss,
Standing there with no movement but pause,
Thinking "Wow, how did I get myself into this hot sauce",
Fighting against all odds,
Adulting like you're in zones of wars,
Being shouted at and doing it out of force
Sitting on the bench at the locker room,
20 more minutes before work resume,
Plugged onto my headphones to dispell the gloom,
Perhaps then this sadness might reside, I assumed,

Hi you,
How have u been baby girl?
Still flaunting those curl,
And wearing you're cutest earrings of pearl,
Or are you just getting by in this modern world

Hey you,
You're hurting,
It's tough, I know it's been a beating,
But you're still here waking up each morning,
Although you feel a little lost and those tears can't stop falling,
Tell yourself you're wise, smart and beautiful everything the world could ever bring,

I've never seen you so down like this,
As if the sun stop rising and the rain's no more a bliss,
Something has changed in you, something's ammiss,
I miss the old vibrant you that wasn't his

I know you feel alone,
Scrolling through contacts Oh God you now hate the phone,
The hole in your heart that's wanting to be sewn,
A will to change this slow sad life tone,
Immersing in adventures and new skills you want to hone,
To make something out of you, just to be known

To be in love is beautiful,
You've been there once and it was colourful,
Free as a bird without any rule,
It was kind at first but turned out cold and cruel,
Rejected and thrown away, love made you a fool,

You were new, innocent to this game,
Perhaps you thought it is somewhat the same,
As how it felt singing your heart out or calling out his name,
Louder and louder for him but he never came,
Nothing to borrow nothing yours to claim

In the end you only have yourself, 7 days a week or a year of twelve,
Broken, disabled blind or deaf,
Your mind, your body, your soul is all that you will have,
When the lights are dimmed and the crowd has left

Why are you mourning today,
While mountains are conquered and history is of limitless say,
The river still flows unending as your hope may,
You're worth as the brightest diamond than someone's child's play,
You can can cry and fail or fight through this caving clay,
But bear in your heart God is with you every step of the way
