Poetry: Fool for Love

Fool for Love

i made paintings on my canvas
the other day
with the colours of my sky
and blood on my fingers
while i was drawing to the rhythm of love
the glass jar of murky water
tumbled down the wooden stool
and broke
shattered pieces of thick ware
scattered all around the kitchen floor
like shiny glitter
how clumsy of me
my heart was louder than my conscience
that i barely noticed the fragile murky waters
picking up the shattered bits
a chunk sliced through my flesh
and fresh red blood oozed out
like the opened dam
filling up a dry river
perhaps i wasn't careful enough
to know
that i was a fool for love
as i fell in love with love again
because it was on that transparent shards
that i saw the glint of light
