Poetry: Burning House

                           Burning House

Had a dream of a burning house
Ashes graciously flew
towards the heavens
Like a song of death
It hummed a sad rhythm
I stood still pass our memories
They crumbled
Together with my tears
down my cheeks
I screamed in pain
But the fire was too loud
Thought you'd hear me
White marble floors
Opon which
we danced our hearts to
Charred, black
Reached my hand out
Thinking it might save us
Thick smoke
blanketed the skies around
I fell
Exhausted with trying
Just when I hoped
The ground would bury me
I was wrong
Deep dark hole engulfed me
whole

I lost myself
