Poetry: City Tree

City Tree

the city tree branches waved hello

sending their morning greetings

to walking souls by the pavement

loud gravels of bulldozers

stridently replied

of sandy sprinkles over the green leaves

of the tall Banyan tree

sweating men found shelter

under its huge old limbs

from the tormenting rays

of the awaken Sun

Tuesdays in the city

breathing the stressful air

or survival and money

perhaps it is only right to

stop

listen

inhale

and let go
